Nest thermostat 3.0.6 update? anyone in Europe?

19 Apr

Hi,

there is supposedly a 3.0.6 software update available for Nest thermostat users (heating only mode)…. somehow I am not able to get this yet on my nest.

Can anyone having “heating only” mode setup, share their experience in getting 3.0.6 please?

Since Nest thermostat is not officially supported in EU, I am not expecting much support from the US, just curious…

some of you may say that winter is behind us (which I really hope)… somehow, my heating system did turn on this morning..

Sincerely,

Matthieu

    Hey Matt,

I’m also living in Paris and recently decided (after a 450 euro gas bill) to move to an electronic/digital thermostat. Curious if you can provide some guidance on my setup; I’m dealing with a brand new ELM gas boiler (on demand) that’s wired to this guy http://www.materielelectrique.com/combine-agrave-cartouches-saillie-agrave-voyant-gris-clair-p-1907.html

From that box I have cables, 2 of them, running to a Danfoss thermostat, this one specifically: http://www.danfoss.com/United_Kingdom/Products/Categories/Literature/he/Electric-and-Electronic-Room-Thermostats/Electro-Mechanical-Dial-Setting-Room-ThermostatsFor-Heating-Applications/RMT230/9f9d6347-5152-4519-b789-f7a7a210a578.html

Wondering with your experience if you think I could make this work easily? Note that today I tested the voltage on the thermostat and I was at around 170v

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks,
    C.

      Hi Craig

It looks like you have a fairly standard setup, note i did not check the box in between you referred to,
Let see if i can find the time to suggest a drawing,
I may have some questions for you…

Which version of the nest do you have?

Hi, I actually haven’t purchased a Nest yet. I wanted first to confirm that it is possible to hook it up with this 2-wire configuration. In the worst case I could possibly run new wires through the wall but I’m guessing it’s going to be tricky since this is an older 19th century building. Any information is appreciated though!

        Thanks!
